Exposition, Visite libre
Pierre Kroll, Belgium's leading caricaturist, with the help of graphic designers Marc Dausimont and Olivier Debie, invites you to discover a selection of over 150 works from his 40-year career, at the Grand Curtius, from 13 September 2024 to 19 January 2025.
In 40 years of publishing, with over 20,000 drawings archived and as many more scattered around, Pierre Kroll himself has no idea what has become of each work or what it has inspired. Unable to choose his favourites, he entrusted the selection and ordering of the drawings to Marc Dausimont, a talented graphic designer. He rediscovered drawings from forty years ago and mixed them with very recent creations. This exhibition is not a retrospective of Kroll's work, nor is it a 'best of'. It is more like a playlist that a listener might have composed for a particular occasion.
